Dr. Ellis's research focuses on how plants deal with stress. He is a professor in the faculty of argicultural science, and is an expert in genetically engineered foods.

Dr. Phil Hieter

Dr. Hieter's research focuses on processes and molecules that ensure DNA ends up where it should during cell division. He is the director of the Biotechnology Lab and a world authority on centromere function.

Dr. Wilf Jefferies
 

Dr. Jefferies is investigating how our immune systems are able to monitor our bodies. Additionally, he is investigating iron transport within the central nervous system and its implications in diseases such as Alzheimers.

  Jamie Piret
Dr. Jamie Piret

Dr. Piret is investigating and developing techniques used to culture mammalian cells (including stem cells). In constructing bioreactors, sonic filters and the like, Dr. Piret's work often straddles the gap between biology and engineering.
