Attack of the Clones: The Use of Somatic Embryogenesis in Forestry

The Chinese fir has been propagated clonally and grown in high-density tree farms for over 800 years. It has been estimated that over 80% of our forests have been affected by logging, agriculture, or colonization by humans. The further development of tree farms could help protect our remaining natural forests.
